Hello Martin and folks...

Now that I can chew through ink like nobody's business, I've started out by recycling the ink from the rejected CIS systems I bought before building my own. It hadn't occurred to me until I started actually printing with the recycled in kthat the ink quality was probably just as bad as the systems it came with. In short... I don't like this ink. It's OK for utility work where quality doesn't matter, but it simply isn't anywhere as good as the HP ink was. The yellow especially is awful.

I assume there's great bulk ink to be had out there, I just don't know where to find it. So, I'll throw it out-- who would folks here buy their HP 10/11 ink from? The black is a pigment ink, the color inks are dye based.

Thanks!
Monty

I'm using Image Specialists ink which I source from the European reseller in Holland but I seem to remember you're USA based so better to look to inksupply.com or the Canadian reseller http://www.precisioncolors.com which is Mikling from Nifty-stuff fame.

I can't comment on the colour gamut, etc... but I've been using the equivalent inks in my K850N and had none of the problems I experienced in the HP88 printheads. It works well and is very reliable... If you want to go with HP88's though I would counsel against the pigment black and get a dyebase alternative instead to avoid the issues with head cloggation that I've reported in a few places.

Alternatively looking into hobbicolours and OCP... the latter has had some unconfirmed reports of China manufactured inks which may or may not be true but would damage their rep as being German manufactured.
