When is it worth trying this modification?

My humble opinion is that you only try completing this modification if you have nothing to lose by doing so..

In my situation I bought a used printer on ebay for peanuts. It was requesting a service due to full waste ink pads and had a clogged printhead through lack of use.. I fixed the thing up and then experimented to produce this guide.

Whatever you do, I would not suggest you try this with a brand new printer and as already stated, you are responsible for your own actions so it's completely your own fault if you screw up.
