Some tips:
The most important thing is to always ensure that your waste ink tank is a lot lower than your printers printhead. Ideally the maximum level of your tank should be about no more than 2 inches above the bottom of the printer.
If you don't do this you will eventually cause ink to flow back into the parking pads and soil the base of the printhead causing a block. This is hard won experience learned the hard way so don't repeat my mistakes.
Other tips
- Make sure your tank is reasonably liquid tight to avoid accidents resulting in a spill
- Ensure the tubing is not folded or kinked in any way as this will stop the ink flowing and cause problems INSIDE the printer
- Also remember to keep the tubing lower than the printhead (as with the waste ink tank itself)
- Remember you need to empty the tank every so often so don't secure so you can't get to it to empty the thing
This guide has been amended and added to the knowledge base so hopefully it's a little easier to access now.
