No idea if this is likely to spill over into the rest of the field but it sure as hell doesn't look good..

Sooo, can they legally be made to stop selling CIS systems? (That just happen to work in EPSON Printers, as well as perhaps some others, not named.)
Maybe a random grouping of parts that the buyer can self assemble and get to operate in his E***** printer.

Or is it a singular ruling not to sell for Epson printers only. I wonder..........it will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Well, all the rumblings I've heard relate to the fact that these CIS kits are Chinese and as the usual scuttlebutt notes, the Chinese systems and inks tend to be poor quality, cheap and when the cr*p hits the fan they aren't supported. This was the same situation that Epson chose to address when it went after key suppliers of 3rd party cartridge manufacturers.

The rational I was given by someone in the business was that Epson really don't like manufacturers that provide something that will undercut their bottom line so severely by offering poor quality at bargain basement prices so they try to nail them...

Of course I may be wrong and we may get word of other manfacturers getting hit who don't fall into this bracket.
