What would it be an issue..if refill existing CISS with ink from different manufacturer..?

Generally speaking,it is not accept to do so ,be,case(1): it can cause the nozzle stops up in existing CISS(2):the color has change .just because different quality in different manufacturer.if you want to use other ink ,change a set CISS is best for your printer ,

It depends entirely on the system you're using.

If you take the time to research the ink you want to use and the system it will be used with then you can usually work out what will work and what won't... However if you don't have time you should generally stick with the original ink.

You're never going to get the original chemical composition from Canon or Epson but the point I was trying to make is that different 3rd party ink manufacturers produce different blends to make their inks. These blends of chemicals may not (and often don't) mix well and if you use say brand X for a few months and then top up your reservoir with brand Y later on (without flushing) you can get a reaction ranging from colour change to full on clogging..

So, basically what I was saying is find a good ink manufacturer/supplier at the beginning, make sure they don't switch brands whenever the wind changes (some suppliers do this!) and that they are good quality. That way you don't need to change them later on which requires you to flush the system.

How do you know if an ink manufacturer is good? Could you provide some examples? I need an ink supplier for a HP k5400.

You ask around and take note of the ones that consistently get good reviews..

OCP, Image Specialists are good examples... I've not tried OCP inks in my K550 yet but it's on the cards at some point.. I've used Image Specialists for a while now but there's some issues with the pigment black that I haven't quite tied down due to differing results that may be due to cartridge design.
