The DX4000 is resettable if you load up the SSC utility (latest version) and then choose the CX3900 as printer model and obviously your installed DX4000 printer.
Whilst it's not the correct printer it will allow you to reset the waste ink or protection counter successfully..
In terms of waste ink kit I'm convinced this has a trap door just like the RX420 so it should take a single tube kit like the WIBSolo or WIBOXSolo but I'm hoping to get confirmation soon.[/url]
