Based on bitter experience instead of broadcasting to the full membership when something goes very wrong (security exploits, etc..) I've opted to create a specific usergroup for anyone who wishes to be kept up to date on any important issues relating to this site or the topic of CIS usage.

The list won't be used to spam anyone, {deity} knows I receive enough of that myself, so it will be used primarily when there's a serious issue that you need to know about.
