I am thinking of getting a CIS for my canon I9900, Would like to get a lyson but they are expensive. But from what I see and read their Ink is supposed to be good. I am wondering if I bought a CIS just the setup different manufacture but purchased the ink from lyson should I have any problem?
I'm not sure how comparable the i9900 and the i9950 are but I'd take a look at this tread:

... From what I can make out there are/were a number of pretty tricky issues that needed to be addressed to get a CIS to work in this printer and unless you're a very patient, resourceful enthusiast it could cost you more in sanity as well as money if you find a cheaper solution doesn't work out.
If nought else I'd try to find out what issues Lyson have ID'd with the printer and how they get around them because it does seem that you may have something of a nightmare on your hands otherwise..
Sorry I can't give more solid advice but the i9xx0 models from Canon are well out of my personal experience range.
