Here is something to mull over (or maybe chuckle over) !!.

A new Epson R220 complete and delivered to your door can now be had from a reputable dealer for around £56, P&P included.

On eBay, auctions for a new R220 printer MINUS original cartridges close at around the £40 mark with P & P at about £12. Total around £52 or so - and ink cartridges still have to be purchased. A set of OEM cartridges on eBay usually close at around the £20 mark or more plus P& P of around £4.

Total cost of working printer system using OEM inks is around £76. Interesting !?!.

Tell me about it...

Far too many rips offs on eBay but people seem to want to go that route all the time and forget that it's not cheaper just because it's eBay..

On the other hand I just bought a set of 6 Genuine Epson cartridges (T0481 - 6) for my R220 for lesss than £18 on eBay (regular price can be as high as £11 per cartridge) including postage, so there are some bargains to be had. That is unlesss anyone knows of a better deal!

True... I've lucked our recently with a new K550 that works very well, a couple of MP500's, one of which was supposedly dud and 2 more iP4200's that came from the Canon refurb dealer so doing quite well.. Only lemon so far has been the Japanese model MP500 I also got but it was marked accordingly and only £30 so I've some spare parts for when any of the others go wrong.
