I Have very slight gaps in the magenta nozzle check which i did not have before as i done a ref print out 5 days ago.
Have tried cleaning cycle , purge print and leaving it overnight.
Only had Epson R2400 for 4-1/2 months .
Anyone here help me please.
I can E-Mail the nozzle check images so some one can give advice.

The first thing to check is probably the ink quality so you might want to check with whoever supplied the inks.. Next up I'm trying to remember but the 2400 is a pigment ink printer so you may have the printer sitting too close to a heat source or something that's drying it out a little quicker than is ideal.

Pro-actively it's best not to site a printer next to anything like that or near air-con either for that matter (dries out air).

It's unlikely that you've borked the head completely and more probable that there's a bit of clogging going on so on that basis I'd do some searches for a guy called Art Entlich who can email you a copy of his printhead cleaning manual. My data on how to reach him is sketchy but that google link should get you started.


All in all I wouldn't panic but I would certainly try and do a little more printing to keep the printer exercised.

Tried to track him down via Google but with out much luck.
I,m going to get some head cleaner and put it in a empty chipped cartridge and run the Magenta purge test print found on Ink Republic site ,
It was suggested by ink specialist to use a substance called bullet and syringe it through the the head , but i heard if you use two much force it can kill the head and at £500 for the printer i'm not going to risk it i'd rather let the cart pump the cleaner through the head at its own pressure simular two the ink pressure.
Before i do this i'm going to soak a pec pad ink isopropyl and put it under the head and leave over night . .

I'd highly recommend dropping in on nifty-stuff forums and reading up on their insights on cleaning printheads as they have a lot of good intel there too.

As a rule though you're right about "forcing" the head with cleaning fluid. Patience is definitely a much better approach!

Sovled it with pec pad tissue round into flatten tube shape soaked in Isopropynoland placed under head of printer over night.
