My R280 will not insert the Cd/Dvd into the unit, stops about 1 inch forward then slides back past the start point, tried changing cartridges, re-installed, no help. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Tackling your original problem... I'm not aware of this particular issue so not much help but the CDCovers forum is probably replete with folks who understand and probably can help with the problem.
