Going to sound slightly ironic given that this is a CIS based forum but having experienced numerous problems with Canon printers when used with a CIS, I've found it smarter to steer well clear of any CIS system for the Canon printers.
Instead it seems far more cost effective in terms of time, reduced headaches, etc... to go with a refill kit and using the German/Durchstich refill method.
If you want more intel on the trials and tribulations on Canon and CIS then the nifty-stuff.com forums is a good point of reference and in fact it's a good reference point for anything Canon so well worth the visit.
Hope that helps even if it does head off in a direction you weren't expecting.
